Increasingly plaintiff lawyers want to bring in every affiliate of the motor carrier and broker. They want to argue the motor carrier was inadequately capitalized, they want to pierce the corporate veil and dig around for other insurance policies. I would like to lead a panel discussion on what trucking organizations can do on the front end to beat back those arguments. The panel can cover best practices when it comes to shared services agreements, ownership structure, board structure, governance documentation, and intra-company transactions.
